The Smirnoff Pitch

April 29th, 2010

So, the re-branded Carrot Sticks with Dip presented the Smirnoff presentation under the new name of FuseBox. The initial idea that we had was to transform Smirnoff into a sophisticated, classy brand for females to move away from the association that Smirnoff has regarding drink and loutish behaviour. To do this we thought about a tie up with the fashion industry, allowing for a glamour competition to be envisaged for the public to enter, allowing for our consumers to become integrated and involved with our brand.

The presentation went well even with a slight miscommunication regarding the schedule for the morning, as we envisaged that period to be our prep time. In reality however that time was spent doing the initial round of presentations, heats if you will. With hurried together presentation, we were still able to hit all of our targets, mentioning the brand that we were promoting, describing our agency and proofing our prototypes for exposure. We did receive some pointers back which were as always helpful and constructive from Mik and Nick, however we were unfortunate not to be chosen.

Big Seed Wagon Wheels Start To Roll

April 29th, 2010

Well, after countless hours of market research, creative thinking and good old fashioned hard work, the big day has come. Today, Big Seed are pitching their marketing strategy to Burton Foods. We’ve got a solid campaign which we’re very happy with.

To target the under 15s we’ve put together a cohesive strategy that makes use of technology and guerrilla marketing tactics. The tactics are held together by an overarching narrative. We’ve decided to launch the new White Wagon Wheel by creating a story to back up the campaign. The story is that a renegade band of White Wagon Wheels have escaped from Burton Foods’ factory, and are hiding out as outlaws up and down the country. We need the target audience’s help to track them down. There’ll be publicity stunts based around the nation, which include a team of special Wagon Wheel Cowboys (actors hired to patrol the streets, communicate with the target audience and essentially ‘hunt the Wagon Wheels’). Children and young teenagers can approach these cowboys at any time and report sightings of rogue Wagon Wheels. As a reward, they’ll be given a voucher which entitles them to a free Wagon Wheel. To claim their reward, they must log on to the specially designed website. There, they will find an interactive map with reported sightings, and will be encouraged to upload their own footage and photos of the Wagon Wheels and Cowboys.  Each time they upload footage, they’ll be automatically entered into a prize draw with the opportunity to win a year’s supply of Wagon Wheels.

These tactics are backed up by television ads and viral marketing tactics (such as teaser ads released on platforms such as YouTube), as well as paper advertising (such as posters).
Our main aim is to get our target market excited about the product again, and we feel we can do that by presenting them with a chance to really get involved in the campaign, rather than just having it spoon fed to them. Fingers crossed Burton Foods shares our enthusiasm!

If you want to follow our campaign, head on over to Twitter. Our name is NewWagonWheel.

Also, you can see the photos of the new White Wagon Wheels over on flickr, and watch out for the photos sent in from people who have caught them!  The name is Wagon_Wheel.

Mind Cove been asked to promote Chatroulette

April 29th, 2010

We’ve been preparing recently for a presentation to pitch to the fine people at ‘chatroulette’.com – at present we are sitting in a seminar with our ‘tutors’ but nerves and to a lesser extent adrenaline are spurring us on and we feel that we can really make a go of this whole ‘mindcove’ thing, we’ve got a lot of interesting and innovative ideas which we think can propel us to winning this brief. We feel that we have stuck to what it is we needed to do sufficiently, finding a ‘motivated audience fanbase’ was the order of the day and through extensive research and blood, sweat and tears- we feel that we have adequately obeyed the brief. We are pitching later today, and are feeling enthusiastic about what we have achieved over the last few days.

Parallel Pitches

April 28th, 2010

First Parallel Pitch under the name of ‘Relentless’ using porno/sex as the parallel:

We are Relentless a hardcore ad agency that always caters to your needs. We come when you’re ready. We tend to be quite anal when it comes to paperwork but we’ll always make contact orally. We have lots of experience with Hollywood and Brazilians but we will always bend over to satisfy your needs. We might sound like a bunch of pussies but hey, at least we’re not dicks!

Parallel Pitch as ‘Yellow Line Productions’ using Parking parallel:

We are Yellow Line productions and its always worth putting your money in our meter of advertising knowledge. If you find yourself double parked with other companies we’ll always be there to perform a turn in the road when it comes to creativity and thinking. At yellow line it’s a case of ‘no stopping at any time’ once the production is in process and once its come to a halt you’ll find that we’re the ticket to your success!

Alt. Parallel Pitch as ‘Yellow Line Productions’ using Chat-up lines parallel:

Grab your coat, cos you’ve just pulled the best ad agency in the room, Yellow line productions. You must be tired because as our future client you have been running through our minds all week and if you were a hamburger you’d be a McSuccess! Those are nice trousers but they’d look better in my office… still on you… but talking to our technical department to try and get the best tech to promote your brand. I have to say it will be a bit ironic if you picked us at Yellow Line because you’ve got fine written all over you! BTW we’ve lost our number, can we have yours?
